STR-750, Square to Round Duct Former

E & S Heating and Ventilation received delivery of their STR-750, Square to Round Duct Former on 13th June. Operating since 1972, E & S provides ductwork contracting services to the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) industry and prides itself on being at the forefront of ductwork manufacturing technology and investment. Investing in the STR-750 will enhance production output by forming square to round duct transitions in less than 2 minutes.

Ambassador to Qatar visits Firmac

Project Qatar 2013 closes on a high note.

The Firmac stand was a popular destination for visitors to Project Qatar 2013. Delegates were keen to hear about the latest machine, the STR-750 square to round duct former, along with the ever popular ADF, Mini-Line and Nu-Loc duct seamer.

Lew Firth, MD, commented, “The exhibition gave us the opportunity to introduce the new STR-750, square to round duct former, to our customers in Qatar and we were very pleased with the number of visitors who came to the stand to hear about it.”

The UK Ambassador to Qatar, Michael O’Neill, visited the stand to meet the team and hear about Firmac’s export success in the Middle East.

The exhibition which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year surpassed all expectations, including its previous edition in 2012, receiving more than 45,000 visitors.

Firmac will be exhibiting at the highly successful Project Qatar Exhibition, 6-9 May 2013 at the Doha Exhibition Centre, Qatar.

Square to Round Ducts in 2 minutes

The STR-750, Square to Round Duct Former from Firmac has revolutionised square to round duct forming. With only one join and no re-shaping required, duct transitions can be produced in less than two minutes.

The duct former is an ideal investment for duct workshops who want to increase output without impacting on floor space as the former can be folded away when not in use.

Roux Young, owner of Venteck Ductwork Ltd., explains how productivity has increased significantly since introducing the STR-750. “Previously we used the folder to produce square to round transitions which was labour intensive and time consuming. The process often distorted the shape of the duct which meant that we had to spend time reshaping each piece to produce an accurate shape.

With the STR-750 we can produce accurate shapes very quickly. We’ve increased daily output from 30 to a massive 200! The machine is easy to use and move around and we’ve found it particularly useful to take on site to make ductwork and insulation cladding".

Firmac’s agents in Russia, Globalvent, have recently exhibited at Climate World in Moscow.

Fully automatic Pro-Duct DRS

Firmac Ltd. has developed a revolutionary new duct forming machine and flange that will be revealed at EuroBLECH 2012. The next generation fully automatic Pro-Duct DRS machine has been designed and built entirely in the UK for leading Swiss ductwork manufacturer Dresohn, and is the first of its kind.

Fully automated from start to finish without operator intervention, the new Pro-Duct DRS machine has a range of additional features, one of these being a new sheet guidance system. Design Manager, Andrew Firth explains. “We have worked closely with the team at Dresohn to develop a machine which is quicker and more user friendly. The new sheet guidance system at the centre of the machine is one of the many new features that have been integrated in to the machine to enable the customer to produce the best quality ducting possible with a minimal amount of manpower required.

He goes on to explain how the new shape flange will have far reaching benefits for the market. “The new flange will revolutionise the market and take Firmac’s duct forming machinery to the next level. With no stitching or spot welding required, the new flange is virtually air tight which should be welcomed by ductwork manufacturers worldwide”.

The relationship between Dresohn and Firmac stretches back to 1992, when Samy first visited the Firmac stand at EuroBLECH. “I first met Colin Firth at EuroBLECH in 1992,” explains owner and Chief Executive Samy Nachmansohn. “We were looking to improve and expand our duct work production and having seen the ADF, decided that this, along with a CGF1 flange machine and some added changes would provide the solution for a high quality duct. We were extremely happy with the ADF and support from the team at Firmac but soon realised we had the potential to increase our market share and needed machinery to enable us to do this. We worked closely with the team at Firmac to design the best machinery available in the market place at this time, a Pro-Duct producing both CGF1 20 and 30mm flanges”.

The relationship which first began at EuroBLECH 1992 has flourished over the past 20 years. A further Pro-Duct was designed and produced for Dresohn in 2004 and now in 2012 the two companies have worked closely to develop the fully automatic Pro-Duct DRS machine and new flange.

Firmac Managing Director, Lewis Firth sums up, “Our relationship with Dresohn began at EuroBLECH back in 1992 and EuroBLECH 2012 provides the perfect stage to showcase our latest collaboration.”

Firmac will be showcasing samples of the new flange, along with the design of the Pro-Duct on stand, D64 in Hall 12 at EuroBLECH 2012.

Lewis Firth, M.D. of Firmac Ltd. Scarborough based manufacturer of duct forming technology, met Prime Minister, David Cameron on Monday 5th November at the Big 5 Building and Construction Show in Dubai.
