Firmac Ltd. has developed a revolutionary new duct forming machine and flange that will be revealed at EuroBLECH 2012. The next generation fully automatic Pro-Duct DRS machine has been designed and built entirely in the UK for leading Swiss ductwork manufacturer Dresohn, and is the first of its kind.
Fully automated from start to finish without operator intervention, the new Pro-Duct DRS machine has a range of additional features, one of these being a new sheet guidance system. Design Manager, Andrew Firth explains. “We have worked closely with the team at Dresohn to develop a machine which is quicker and more user friendly. The new sheet guidance system at the centre of the machine is one of the many new features that have been integrated in to the machine to enable the customer to produce the best quality ducting possible with a minimal amount of manpower required.
He goes on to explain how the new shape flange will have far reaching benefits for the market. “The new flange will revolutionise the market and take Firmac’s duct forming machinery to the next level. With no stitching or spot welding required, the new flange is virtually air tight which should be welcomed by ductwork manufacturers worldwide”.
The relationship between Dresohn and Firmac stretches back to 1992, when Samy first visited the Firmac stand at EuroBLECH. “I first met Colin Firth at EuroBLECH in 1992,” explains owner and Chief Executive Samy Nachmansohn. “We were looking to improve and expand our duct work production and having seen the ADF, decided that this, along with a CGF1 flange machine and some added changes would provide the solution for a high quality duct. We were extremely happy with the ADF and support from the team at Firmac but soon realised we had the potential to increase our market share and needed machinery to enable us to do this. We worked closely with the team at Firmac to design the best machinery available in the market place at this time, a Pro-Duct producing both CGF1 20 and 30mm flanges”.
The relationship which first began at EuroBLECH 1992 has flourished over the past 20 years. A further Pro-Duct was designed and produced for Dresohn in 2004 and now in 2012 the two companies have worked closely to develop the fully automatic Pro-Duct DRS machine and new flange.
Firmac Managing Director, Lewis Firth sums up, “Our relationship with Dresohn began at EuroBLECH back in 1992 and EuroBLECH 2012 provides the perfect stage to showcase our latest collaboration.”
Firmac will be showcasing samples of the new flange, along with the design of the Pro-Duct on stand, D64 in Hall 12 at EuroBLECH 2012.
