Scarborough Engineering Week 14-16 October 2013
The Firth Firmac Group will be once again supporting Scarborough’s Engineering Week.
The event is aimed at promoting STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) to young people aged from 4-19 years.
Lewis Firth,Director at the Firth Firmac Group explains why the company supports this event. “Like many manufacturing businesses in Scarborough, Firth Sheet Metal and Firmac rely on a team of skilled engineers to produce a high quality of work which our customers’ expect. It is important that we show younger people the opportunities that are available to them and support them should they decide to pursue a career in engineering.
“Scarborough Engineering Week is a great way to show school children and parents the exciting engineering work being undertaken by local and regional businesses”.
The Firth Firmac Group will have their team of apprentices demonstrating equipment and talking to visitors during the three days.
The event will be open to the public on Monday 14th and Wednesday 16th October, 4pm-7pm.
