Firmac spent 3 days last week at Scarborough Engineering Week (11-13 October). The event, which is in it’s 7th year, welcomed primary and secondary school children to learn about careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) subjects. Firmac apprentices were on hand to talk about apprenticeships and the role of engineering in a modern company.
Firmac supports Engineering Week as part of an ongoing programme to promote engineering to students in the local area.
The event was hugely popular with aspiring engineers who have the opportunity to see and hear about opportunities in local manufacturing and engineering businesses. Firmac was one of many local organisations including, GCHQ, McCain, Dale Power Solutions and Unison Ltd who support this annual event.
